Regional Directorate for Environment, Development, and Housing in Nouvelle-Aquitaine (DREAL-NA)

Gilles Adam is a hydrobiologist who developed research on eel population dynamics during ten years at Cemagref (INRAE). For 20 years, he has been in charge, at the Ministry of Ecology, in a decentralized State service (DREAL-NA), of the coordination of diadromous species management in the Garonne-Adour basin and, at the national scale, for the European sturgeon. Gilles Adam put his expertise in the elaboration of management plans and leads, to this aim, management committees with all the stakeholders concerned by these challenges.

His talk will describe the various tools developed in the Adour-Garonne basin and leading to the release of fish individuals. Depending on the territories and species, the objectives are diverse, and the tools are adapted in consequence. The presentation will review the different actions with their expected goals.
